With that in mind, here are 5 examples of cool forms that use Gravity Forms as a foundation.<\/p>\n

The Animated Form<\/h2>\n

Not every form needs to look like it was designed with Gravity Forms. In fact, sometimes you don\u2019t want users to know that they\u2019re even filling out a form.<\/p>\n

In one form demo created by Jetsloth<\/a>, they combined Gravity Forms with another plugin (Image Choices<\/a>) to create a completely visual, animated form instead of something more traditional.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what the form looks like:<\/p>\n

Once selected, the image is highlighted and, presumably, additional information would appear if it were a functional form (this demo simply showcases the animation).<\/p>\n

The coolest part of this is that it shows that forms don\u2019t have to be narrowed down to questions with an answer box.<\/p>\n

You can truly be as creative and design-oriented as you want to be without having to worry too much about the technical aspects.<\/p>\n

The Conditional Logic Survey<\/h2>\n

A lot of forms use conditional logic to display or hide specific questions on a form.<\/p>\n

But Mish and Rob, the team that run Making it Anywhere<\/a>, have done something pretty cool with their use of conditional logic by adding it to almost every question on their \u201cgetting to know you\u201d survey<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what the survey looks like when you first arrive on the page:<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a cleanly designed form with only a handful of questions. Where it gets interesting, however, is when you start choosing between the yes and no radio buttons.<\/p>\n

Not much has changed. But now select \u201cNo - but I want to\u201d:<\/p>\n

If you look at the following question, \u201cDo you run your own business?\u201d every answer changes the follow up question underneath it.<\/p>\n

The whole form is customized based on the user\u2019s answers.<\/p>\n

This is a great way to customize an intake form or survey<\/a> to get more information from users without having to build a big, multi-step form.<\/p>\n

Of course, multi-step forms can be good too...<\/p>\n

The Mega Multi-Step Form<\/h2>\n

Sometimes you need to build BIG forms, which is just what the team at Phoenix Web Development needed for their \u201cGet a Quote\u201d form<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Not only is it a multi-step (also known as a multi-page) form, but each page has several longer sections.<\/p>\n

According to Web Developer James Jones<\/a>, they created their form as a way to gather as much information from customers as possible so they could give an accurate quote the first time around.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll notice the warning sign at the top of the form\u2019s page as well as a progress bar:<\/p>\n

It begins, \u201cFirstly, be warned - this form can take a while.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jones admits that not many people fill it out simply because it does takes so long to complete, but they worked hard to make sure it was user friendly.<\/p>\n

The people who do take the time often get the most accurate quotes, compared to what they\u2019d get from a simpler questionnaire.<\/p>\n

A few notable parts of this form include the \u201cBack to top\u201d button that scrolls with the form as well as a \u201cSave and Finish another time\u201d button.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also explanatory text for some questions that clarify why they\u2019re asking for it.<\/p>\n

Even though it\u2019s gargantuan compared to many other quote request forms, it\u2019s one of the the best example out there of a big Gravity Forms form that\u2019s also perfectly functional and user-friendly.<\/p>\n

The Branded Form<\/h2>\n

One great example of a simplistic yet well-branded form comes from the site A Girl and Her Mac<\/a>. When you first come to her website, you\u2019ll notice that her branding is very personalized.<\/p>\n

She has a introduction letter as her homepage, with in-text links to different pages in place of standard navigation (though there\u2019s still some navigation at the top).<\/p>\n

When you click the \u201c?\u201d button in the top right hand corner, you\u2019re taken to a dynamic FAQ page instead of a contact page.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a relatively simple form. No fancy features other than some color changing on hover-over (you\u2019ll see it on the black email bar in the image above) and some radio buttons.<\/p>\n

But the thing that\u2019s cool about this form is how well it fits into the overall design of her site.<\/p>\n

She hasn\u2019t just created any old contact form, she\u2019s built her contact form. With her \u201cwacky colors\u201d and all.<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s what Gravity Forms is really about. It\u2019s a building block to give people exactly what they need to build forms that work for their brands.<\/p>\n

The Multi-Purpose Form<\/h2>\n

Forms can also serve as more than just a contact point.<\/p>\n

They can be used to give information or request services, or sometimes both at the same time, as in the case of Mendocino Farm\u2019s contact form<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When you arrive at the page, you\u2019re met with a simple (blank) dropdown menu after the question, \u201cHow can we help you?\u201d<\/p>\n

Depending on the dropdown, the information presented (forms, form questions, text, etc.) is different.<\/p>\n

Final Thoughts<\/h2>\n

There\u2019s no one right way to use Gravity Forms, and because of that, people are out there doing some pretty cool things.<\/p>\n

While some of the above examples were built using code or specialized developers, some of them (like A Girl and Her Mac) could just as easily be built by anyone with a Gravity Forms plugin.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s the whole point.<\/p>\n

Gravity Forms is simply a set of building blocks to give you anything you need. There are plenty of other plugins, add-ons<\/a> and extensions<\/a> that can help you achieve some cool things, too.<\/p>\n
